Having brought hundreds of dissolution and parentage actions to judgment, I can attest that no two cases are alike. I believe it is my role to learn the unique details of each client’s case, clearly understand his or her objectives, and then contextualize the arcane family law code so that I address each of their specific needs. Clients often tell me that they have met with other attorneys who describe their case as a “straightforward divorce” or a “custody battle,” and that joint custody is considered “standard.” Such generalizations can be very harmful and misleading.

Truth be told, each and every client's family law matter has its own particular issues and distinguishing facts. Thus, different custody arrangements and parenting plans work better in different situations. I approach each case from a perspective that is not just informed by my past experience but also built from a fresh perspective based on my client’s unique situation.

In working with clients, I do everything in my power to translate and explain complex legalese, demystifying the process and transforming the “terrifying unknown” into concepts and examples that can be easily grasped.
